Meeting of classical faculties’ vocational courses’ programmes in cameroonian universities
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, on behalf of the Minister of State, presided over the third session of the meeting of the professional programs of the classical faculties on 28 April 2022. This meeting took place in the conference room 1036 of MINESUP, in the presence of the Deans of the classical Faculties of State Universities, some coordinators of the professional fields and the MINESUP officials.
The meeting had two objectives. On the one hand, it aimed at validating the 122-page document, presenting the situation and the framework of professionalization in the faculties. This document will serve as a compass in the construction and monitoring of the professionalization process in the classical faculties. On the other hand, it was about reflecting on the elements of maturation of institutional funding request for classic Faculties to absorb the deficit of infrastructure, qualified teachers and financial resources able to assure the country a quality human capital. This funding can take the form of a direct grant or the creation of a Support Program for the Professionalization of Classical Faculties (Pro- AFAC).
Professionalization in classical faculties, so far qualified as moulds to manufacture unemployed people, allows students to acquire practical skills in accordance with the expectations of socio-professional environments and geographical specificities, with the aim of ensuring professional insertion and self-employment.
