5th Session of the Consultation Committee between MINESUP and the National Union of University Support Staff of Cameroon (MINESUP/SYNAPAUC)

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education presided this Thursday 28 April 2022, on behalf of the Minister of State, the opening ceremony of the 5th Session of the Consultation Committee between MINESUP and the National Union of University Support Staff of Cameroon (MINESUP/SYNAPAUC). The proceedings were held in the hall of ceremonies of the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaounde on the theme, “Improving the social climate between the NSIF and the Public and Administrative Establishments (EPA): case of the State Universities.”
In his opening remarks, Professor Joseph Lebel TAMESSE, Technical Coordinator of this Committee, recalled the genesis of the platform set up on 25 May 2016, as well as the objectives of today’s meeting. In fact, this meeting was about elucidating the different sources of tension between the Support Staff and the NSIF, and about educating the Staff to always give priority to social dialogue in the resolution of their different claims.
In the same vein, Professor NYONGBET Wilfred GABSA, Secretary General of MINESUP and representative of the Minister of State, expressed the wish that the exchanges put all parties at the same level of information and lead to practical, pragmatic and directly operational consensual solutions. He finally urged the participants to have a frank, participative, constructive citizen debate, without taboos, in strict respect of the divergent views.
