Central Services of the Ministry of Higher Education : 27 Officials Took Up Office

The installation ceremony took place on Friday 1 November 2024 at Amphi 700 of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaounde I. Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary General, Prof Wilfred NYONGBET GABSA, personal representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, enjoined the newly promoted officials to be punctual, diligent and respectful of hierarchy, ethics and professional deontology.

Appointed by Order No. 2400000147/MINESUP of 22 October 2024, these 27 officials, including 7 Sub-Directors and Unit Heads, and 20 Heads of Service and Assistant Research Officers, are entering a new era in their careers after being anointed for the occasion by Professor Wilfred NYONGBET GABSA, Secretary General of this ministerial department.
After customary exchange of courtesies, he first congratulated those appointed, before stressing the importance of responsibility and commitment to work. ‘You must put your knowledge and know-how at the service of the huge task of developing quality higher education’, he declared.He went on to remind the new officials that they must comply with the laws and regulations of the Republic, especially in the management of the human, material, financial and logistical resources allocated to them. ‘You have specific missions to accomplish, and your success is essential if we are to achieve the objectives of the higher education system’, he added.
The ceremony was also an opportunity for Prof. Wilfred NYONGBET GABSA to reiterate the guiding principles of higher education in Cameroon, notably the triptych ‘Quality Assurance, Professionalisation and Digitisation of Teaching, Employability of Graduates’. In this respect, he invited them to remain loyal to the institutions, and to put all their intelligence, experience and skills at the service of the missions of Higher Education.
The Minister of State, Minister for Higher Education, Prof. Jacques FAME NDONGO, made these appointments in keeping with his customary commitment to gender parity, with 15 women and 12 men out of a total of 27 appointees.
The ceremony ended in an atmosphere of conviviality and gratitude. Now it is time to start working towards the efficient fulfilment of the Ministry of Higher Education’s missions.
