Radio/Press release
The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education announces to the general public and all Cameroonian students who were undergoing in the People’s Republic of China before the COVID-19 outbreak that the Chinese authorities are not yet certain of an immediate return of foreign students as boarders remain partially closed. Following the presentation by the China International Student Union of the conditions faced by most foreign students back in their countries which include among others: extreme poor quality of online classes, time difference, poor internet access in some developing countries and difficulties to concentrate at home due to interference from family, the authorities reiterate the importance China attaches to the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of foreign students studying in China.
However, as the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is still severe, China will, on the premise of ensuring the safety of epidemic prevention, make a comprehensive study about the resumption of foreign students coming back to China.
By this, the specific time for foreign students to return to China will depend solely on the epidemic situation at home and abroad. Students are therefore asked to remain in close contact with their respective institutions for continuous follow-up and feedback in timely manner. Download the press release
